Way back when, I was a computer animator … before becoming a wedding filmmaker, I worked on making CG animated films. Anyway, around Halloween each year, I start to reminisce about my senior thesis in college – The Scarecrow. I didn’t intentionally create this little animation because of any kind of love for Halloween … I just really thought it would be challenging to bring to life a character that is not supposed to be alive. This thesis was very well received … I was interviewed by Pixar and Disney along with several other studios before choosing a little studio in Atlanta, Fathom Studios, to call my animation home for a few years. At that point, I already knew I wanted to be a wedding filmmaker and that I wanted Atlanta to be my home. It was a perfect fit for me. I also credit this little piece to my “10 seconds of fame”, because it was featured on the Sci Fi Channel’s show called Exposure, a great little show that showcased budding and talented up and coming filmmakers. So, in the spirit of Halloween, here is my little thesis called The Scarecrow. Enjoy!
