I’ve learned sometimes you need to build unnecessary cuboids and floors just to get the stairs where you want it, you can then delete the unneeded cuboids and floors and the stairs will remain so lon… But essentially, cuboid stairs won’t stick to a cuboid room that has no cuboid beneath e.g it has its original floor.

Not a solution, but I often use the individual pieces as flooring and put the cuboid rooms on top of them. They don't match for size so I usually just have a walk around space outside the cuboid … WebIn order to get the floor panels and cuboids as flush as possible, put a corridor out from a cuboid (with no cuboids next to it in either side) and add a basic wall with door to the end.
