WebThe patient underwent incisional drainage, and intra-operatively, the sinus tract could be seen extending to the retroperitoneum. A subsequent CT scan and an MRI of the abdomen revealed a large heterogeneous retroperitoneal cystic mass on the right side of midline, extending inferiorly into the anterior thigh along the iliopsoas. Webschwannoma and 2 retroperitoneal cysts. With an average follow-up of over 2 years there are no recurrences. Conclusions: Laparoscopic approach is a feasible approach in selected patients with retroperitoneal masses. In our experience, laparoscopy offers a viable and oncologically radical option with excellent results and low morbidity.
