Since day 1 I have … WebJun 30, 2011 · The problem occurs when either coasting to a stop or braking coming to a stop. The transmission will downshift hard from 3-2 and sometimes 2-1 causing a small jerking of the jeep and occasionally a light clunk. The most noticeable is the 3-2 shift which happens around 20mph with the engine around 1000 rpm (under braking, not acceleration.)

Either its manual and your jamming the fuck out of the shifter through a lockout or doing it with an auto manually which equally begs the question.... Why? WebFeb 8, 2024 · The downshift occurs just under 40mph. The shifting is not noticeable when all the other gears downshift. I would describe this as a bump feeling, not a hard slam. The shift isn't hard enough to send me into panic mode but it is noticeable enough that I am researching it. The upshift is fine for all gears.
