WebI'm having a similar issue (2008 Subaru Outback 2.5i auto). Top radiator hose blew off the top of the radiator. Mine cracked the top of the radiator. The working theory is that I have a head gasket / head problem that is allowing exhaust gas to escape into the coolant lines, pressurizing the radiator and causing this issue. Most likely, when taking off the hose, they cracked the plastic nozzle by using a screwdriver to wedge off the old clamp. Of course, you will never get them to admit it. Go to the junkyard and get a new radiator.
