WebbHow long should ramset nails be for 2×4? A: I’ve attached 2x4s to concrete with 2.5” nails and number 4 ( yellow) shots but I would by some number 3 shots if the nail is driven in too far. Ramset has guidelines regarding nailing through 1.5” wood (2×4. 2×3…..etc.). They recommend 2.5” or 3”. How do I know what size Tapcon I have? WebbThe fastest and easiest way to attach most wood parts to concrete is to use a powder-actuated gun. To use it, load a special gun nail and a .22 caliber gun shell into the barrel. Press the nose against the workpiece, pull the trigger and the shell will drive the fastener directly into the concrete.

Webb29 okt. 2016 · A lot of it depends on the strength of your concrete too and if it's fully cured it will obviously be harder than if it's green. You've got a couple choices, shorter pins since you aren't getting the penetration you need, or you drill and tap in anchors. I'm also planning to back the furring/2x4s with a construction adhesive like liquid nails to avoid having to nail too many times. electricity and gas companies melbourne
